The Frontier Tech Launchpad is a dedicated space for FCDO Pioneers, designed to level up your shared knowledge and skills relating to multiple aspects of the programme. Here to guide you are members of the Frontier Tech Hub, and each has a specialism and knowledge gained over years on the programme.
Below you’ll find write-ups from previous sessions we’ve run, now available for you to access at any time. If a particular subject resonates, talk to your coach about arranging a direct session with the guide. These sessions are primarily for Pioneers, but they can be opened up to include your implementing partners and coaches, too, if it feels helpful.
The Launchpad spans two learning journeys. If you’re new to the programme, then you’ll be starting on the first: Ready to Launch.

From innovation methodologies and evidence to impactful storytelling, you’ll master the key ingredients which make a pilot as successful and impactful as possible.
Ready to Scale
👥 This is for: Pilot teams who have passed their initial funding tranche
This is a mini-series of three topics aimed at pilots who have already started their pilot journeys and who have passed their first milestone to unlock further funding.
This covers questions about sustainable business models, exiting a pilot, and sourcing funding and partnerships moving forward.

Since 2016, we’ve worked with over 90 FCDO staff on more than 70 pilots across 33 countries, and that includes you! The Launchpad offers you the chance to connect with your cohort of pilots and master the skills needed to produce incredible learning, stories and impact during your pilot journey.
