Frontier Tech Hub Newsletter #2

Welcome to the second issue of the Frontier Tech Hub’s regular newsletter, with a wide range of updates from across the Hub.

This time, we’re jumping into the world of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs). From medical delivery to street mapping, drones are being used around the world in a wide variety of ways. However, deciding when, where, and how to utilise UAVs in development projects isn’t always straightforward.

We have three things to share with you: a paper, a podcast series, and recommendations based on Frontier Tech Hub’s own UAV pilots. Let's get started.

Drones: Safety, Security, & Ethics

This discussion paper, about safety, security, and ethics in drone-enabled healthcare logistics, explores multiple potential issues and challenges affecting the scaling-up of drone operations in Africa.

Learn about issues relating to safety, security, and ethics in drone-enabled healthcare

Using drones for positive impact

In this 5-part podcast series about how drones can be used for positive impact, hosted by Sarah Pannell (Policy Adviser in the Technology and Innovation Unit), we hear from key thought leaders and stakeholders in the drone landscape, including some of the innovators supported by the Frontier Tech Hub.
